The Special

So, as of a week ago, I had run out of pictures to post.

Well not exactly run out. But without going through my archive and working out which of the 15,000 haven't already appeared here and would also be suitable images - a task I have no desire to do, by the way - to all intents and purposes I had run out of pictures to post.

So because you are so special to me, on the weekend I went out and shot some more photos.

Here's one of them.

I do have six rolls of black and white film waiting for me to process at some point. So, in the near future, this blog may be over-run with black and white images.

That'll make a change from all these square, colour ones ...

These are two photo shoots I did a wee while ago now ... in 2009 when I was on my second go at being a mature student.

Later I removed the background and added myself to some other footage I had shot. The finished works were complex blends of very rough photography-based stop motion combined with a real motion background slowed down so it had more of the appearance of being a still and an out of sequence soundtrack (not that anyone would have known).

In fact, as it turned out pretty much all of it went right over the head of my fellow students. Their engagement was at a very veneerial level (hey, I just invented a new word).

Naturally, I'm not going to present the finished works because these photos are almost more interesting out of context. That and the fact that the finished works were only a step - an extremely long and laborious step - in the process of creating the work which I presented at the end of the year. A video work which did not include me at all.
